Aircraft Icons
Before submitting a new icon request, please confirm the following:

What would you use this icon for?
Currently, the mdi icon set has only one airplane icon. Would love to see various airplane type icons added to the available icons.
The additional aircraft icons would be used to display various types of aircrafts.
Give us an example of what this icon might look like.

@jfuehner What specific aircrafts do you need to display for your application?
At the small 24dp square size this limits things, so think of aircraft styles rather than specific ones.
@Templarian my use-cases surround visualizing on a map. We currently change the color of the current mdi airplane icon. However, that only gets us so far telling the visual story.
Flight Radar provides a good example. You can see various aircraft icons represented on the map… https://www.flightradar24.com

I am totally open to ideas. Would love to see more varieties to choose from. The URLs I provided were to show various styles of crafts not necessarily to represent the specific types.
Perhaps making the different styles Flight Radar uses would be a good starting point? I wouldn’t need all the rotation variations as they have in the sprite as I can rotate the text/Unicode with webgl.
@Templarian I narrowed the icons down to these 4 styles. Thoughts on adding these aircraft variations?
