Checklist

  • [x] I am reporting an issue in existing functionality that does not work as intended
  • [x] I've searched for existing GitHub issues

Description

Currently the app isn't saving images (or videos) I receive in chats. I have it enabled for all chats except channels, yet they are not saved. Group chats have the same problem.

Auto-download for all images is enabled.

Expected Behavior

Received images are automatically saved into the photos app.

Actual Behavior

Received images aren't automatically saved

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Enable 'Download incoming images'
  2. Receive image
  3. Notice it wasn't saved

Environment

Device: iPhone Xs

iOS version: 16.0

App version: 9.0.1

Your are misunderstanding this option. Its purpose is to auto-load an image you receive, instead of having to click on it manually in order to load it. Saving an image to your local gallery has to be done manually.

You're talking about the auto load feature (automatic media download?). What I am talking about is 'Save incoming photos' (https://www.guidingtech.com/fix-telegram-photos-not-showing-in-the-gallery/)

Seems like you are right, my bad for not double checking!

@exp111 Did this ever get resolved?

I am having the same issue.

I still see the feature in Telegram app and I find it hard to believe that this feature was discontinued.

Please let me know how it went.

FYI @Laiteux

Thanks.

@yousomi87 No, I'm still suffering. Why are we still here. I don't think they are really looking at the issues here…
