Aqara water leak sensor not communicating battery status

Open R73S opened this issue 3 years ago • 11 comments

The water leak sensors of Aqara give continuously 100% battery and do not change. Even when I press the button on the sensor to wake it, Homey does not show the battery power other than 100%.

Though the Aqara temperature sensors do communicate the battery power. So it is possible.

Can you share a diagnostics report after pressing the button; I’ll show you that it does report.

Heeft u voldoende aan de code die ik van het diagnostisch rapport krijg? Do you have enough with the code I received from the report?

Hi Ted,

I have just added a new aqara waterleak sensor and did from Homey Developer an interview to the sensor. When I keep pushing every second the button, after a while this answer is received by Homey:

Maybe this can gives extra information? I see iat the bottum several unsupported commands.

Have the same, yesterday I found out (after removing one of the Zigbee router), that mesh network is not getting updated for 3 out of 4 flood sensors. The reason was dead battery (even when pressing it, no LED blinking at all...). Battery insights reported 100% even though I replaced batteries 12 hours ago. Dear Ted, Is there any news about this topic?

R73S avatar Oct 22 '21 16:10 R73S

all battery status of the sensors ( water , occupancy, temperature) are not updated , also the % state is always 100% , the same is the connection status is bit updated , homey shows devices as normal even the battery is down ( or removed manually)

Strike2001 avatar Oct 24 '21 22:10 Strike2001

I'm having the same issue. Last year i used 6 of these flood sensors. One week ago I figured out that all the batteries where dead. Homey did still report that the battery was 100% for all 6 sensors.

There's a topic for this on the athom community. Someone asked Xiaomi support and others if the sensor can report battery status. It seems to work with the Aqara hub. Xiaomi support confirmed the sensors do report battery status.
