Custom HTTP response generator

As of today, http::generator provides some standard HTTP responses. These are mainly provided for convenience and are only used in very few places within the library itself.

It might make sense to extend this concept and provide a user-registerable generator. This way, whenever the library itself needs to generate such a standard response, it will invoke some user supplied code to generate the actual responses.
