[Feature] Share file with jtxB from another app improvement
Currently if you want to create some content as a file to be added to a jtxB item as an attachment you can use the share-with button n another app to paste it back to jtxB. This is quite nice and saves having to save the file separately in the other app and then find it to add as an attachment.
However when you share to jtxB it always starts a new item. It would be better if there is an item already being edited in jtxB if the shared content was added as an attachment to that item.
Currently if you allow the dialog to create the new item you can then add it as a sub-items to the main item you are entering and typing the title for the item you just created. This is a little cumbersome.
An alternative would be to be able to initiate a new drawing from within jtxB in the same way as an audio note and create it as a sub note.
The best solution would be to have the dialog that the share-with button from the other app brings up in jtxB have the option to make the new item a sub-note of an existing item - ie have a [parent] button on the dialog which would allow you to search and choose a parent item for the new note in the same way as you can search fora sub-item to link.
(this would also be a useful option when editing an item as well - specify or change a parent for the item. Currently you can only create a sub-item or detach an existing sub item from within the parent item. In fact you can only see sub-items from the parent item. Hi @rogercreagh ,
Im a bit hesitant, just because I'm afraid the UI will get too crowded if I add another option to this dialog.
In 2.5.2 I will add the menu entry in the detail view for an entry. So you could as well make a new entry, click on save&edit and open the menu to link the entry to a new parent. Would you maybe like to have a look at this first and then re-evaluate if another change is needed?
Another option that I could think of is to react on a paste action on the text and if it's an image, I add it as an attachment.

That's an interesting idea.
I don't know how to copy an image to the clipboard to be able to paste it in Android. The only options I have (And v12) is to either Share With an app (eg jtxB) or to Copy To which means copy the file to a new location. Easy enough to copy and paste an image on a laptop but Android doesn't seem to support the action.
Or do you mean if jtxB is open and editing some text then respond to the Share With request by creating an attachment to the open item. Which would, for example, allow you to whilst editing an item open the camera, take a picture, and share it back to jtxB as an attachment. This would be good, if jtxB was not in the middle ofediting something then it would create a new item as at present.
