Project Status: Still Alive!

👋 Hi all! I'm going to be helping out with maintenance of the project for a little while. @TechNickAI has granted me some GitHub and npm permissions, so I should be able to triage issues, merge PRs, and push new package versions.

Project Context

package.json-validator is a handy package that, as the name says, can validate your package.json data. I personally use it in eslint-plugin-package-json and am motivated to get this package under active development & supporting the latest and greatest in the npm ecosystem. 🚀

Next Steps

Here's what I'm going to do with this repository:

  • [x] Review the open PRs
  • [x] Triage the open issues
  • [x] Publish a new version of the package: #75
  • [x] File a few issues of my own
  • [ ] Overhaul the development tooling to more reflect a typical 2020s-era package: #82
  • [ ] Look into how this works with eslint-plugin-package-json: #80

Note that I don't (yet?) have repository settings access for GitHub, so I can't set up automated releases, change the About URL, pin this issue, or a few other nice things. We're working on that.

Out of Scope

For now, substantial changes to to package.json-validator are out of scope. This package is going to stay mostly as-is. I don't plan on, say, breaking-change overhauling the API.

Bug fixes and useful feature requests will of course be accepted & released.
