Maybe you could try updating Magisk ? After all, Magisk 20.4 is almost 2 years old...

Same Issue here,

Device: ZTE Axon 7 Operating System: Mifavor-UI 4.2 Android Version: 7.1.1 Magisk: 16.7 (Newer versions prevent my phone from booting)

I want to add that the old versions of Vanced where you had to use SAI did work, but not since Vanced Manager
