Please add alternative installation method for Xiaomi devices (because of the MIUI Optimization shit).

Please only open the issue if the following is true

  • This is an issue in the Vanced Manager and ONLY Vanced Manager (NOT Youtube Vanced/Music/microG)

Suggestion: You can currently bypass the issue by installing YouTube Vanced with adb using a computer, but it's very unhandy to have to use your computer every time to update YouTube. My current solution to not have to use your computer, is to use SAI (https://github.com/Aefyr/SAI https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aefyr.sai) with Shizuku (https://github.com/RikkaApps/Shizuku https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=moe.shizuku.privileged.api) as installation method to install/update YouTube Vanced without any MIUI Optimization problems... but this isn't very handy. My exact suggestion is: add the possibility to install YouTube Vanced with Shizuku

If this would get added, then this could lead to another suggestion: auto-update on background without any installation confirmation pop-ups using shizuku

Why is this suggestion relevant? For many people disabling MIUI Optimization forever is a bad choice because of the downsides like increased battery usage. For many people disabling MIUI Optimization temporary is a bad choice because many settings get reset (e.g. all app permissions) everytime it gets toggled off and on again. This suggestion should fix this problem forever, and also opens up the possibility for other new features.

We might implement Shizuku but auto update is a no no. Too much hassle and messing with different phones with different shitty battery optimizations.

Hello just to let know, installation via Vanced manager with MIUI optimization enabled doesn't fail since i updated from MIUI 12.5.1 to MIUI 12.5.2. Before it failed and now it longer. I'm going to guess Xiaomi has fixed the issue.

For info i'm not running a xiaomi.eu ROM, only updated my phone though System update.

Just tested it, it's the same for me, it now works flawlessly... Weird nobody mentioned it anywhere, it is pretty big news for me.

I guess it's just a Certified MIUI Moment™. Either way, I don't think closing this issue is reasonable until everyone gets the update.

@FurriousFox you can use https://github.com/sermart1234/vancedADBinstaller But it's best to make a web vanced manager using WebUSB
