Mixed Content Creators

Open cyrneko opened this issue 9 months ago • 0 comments

Describe the feature

This would allow content creators that have mixed content from both YouTube and YouTube Music to be viewable together, just like YouTube allows to do natively.

E.g if I visit an artists' YouTube page, it will also have sections to view the music they have associated. Except on Piped it would be chronological and mixed.

Why would this be useful to add?

Right now, when visiting a page that has mixed content or one of YouTube's "ARTIST - Topic" pages, there is no clear indiciation that there is context and content missing. Adding such a mixed content feature in the form of an extra tab would allow you to see said content.

Additionally, showing "Albums" as an option might not always be sufficient because the lack of indication that more content even exists, like again when viewing one of YouTube's "topic" pages.

Concept(s)

A rough concept (that is chronologically incorrect) for how it'd look Lupus Nocte's YouTube, a channel with only one video but lots of Music:

Additional context

I think that this "All Content" tab should not be unconditionally applied. Not only would this be a change of the default expected behavior, but also would this probably be quite a messy view to have as the default.

I think it's important to say, for example, default to the "All content" tab when viewing one of the "Topic" channels / YouTube Music channels, or when a YouTube channel has associated YouTube Music content but very little YouTube Content, e.g only 1-3 videos posted.
