Feature description
The app should Mark all downloaded videos/audio as watched. This can be implemented in following ways
- Always mark downloaded videos as watched
- An option in settings to mark downloaded videos as watched
- A checkbox in download confirmation dialog which should remember the choice once checked.
- The downloaded video can be displayed in different colour
I prefer any of the first 3 of the suggestions
Why do you want this feature?
- Downloaded videos/audio pops up in what's new feed every now and then and is likely to be accidentally watched by user resulting in wastage of data.
- It is too time consuming to manually use long press> mark as watched on each video and has a lot of potential of misclick when downloading multiple videos
Additional information
Nothing here just crickets
I'd rather suggest Hide Downloaded Items as a separate toggle. Download isn't as same as history. Moreover, all users don't have watch history enabled. So, Mark as Watched doesn't work for them.
Updated title in line with the above suggestion
Let's suppose you downloaded a video from a channel not in the subscribed channels and you regularly check those channels for updates on content then there should be some sort of marking that this video has already been downloaded/watched
The best the app will be able to do is inform you that you downloaded a video at some point in the past. There cannot be a guarantee that that video is still available in your device folder, because that would require proper file management capabilities, which would bloat the app.
Yup i am fine with app just telling me that i have downloaded a file in the past as if i have deleted the file i would already know as the file doesn't vanishes by itself. Nonetheless it should hide the video from feed.
