YouTube channels are subcribed double
Before Google "Plus" (rather minus) was introduced, the old YouTube channels contained a username in the URL. Thereafter the /c/ChannelCode was instroduced. NewPipe does not recognize these alias URLs as one identical channel. The result is, that channels I've subcribed both via username URL and via channel ID URL, are not merged into one entry on NewPipe. So, all their latest videos appear doubled in the timeline. The screenshot I've sent to you via German Email, two days ago.
I know about this, and tried to address it by preventing the extractor from providing /u/... links, but sometimes the issue comes up again. Yeah, this needs a proper fix, that would probably just imply obtaining the /c/... url when fetching the channel and replacing the /u/... one with it
Is this still an issue? @Stypox
I think so, unless YouTube removed some ways to access channels
yes, definitely.
In the medium term, I think a bit of feed cleanup code should be implemented, as YouTube always changes these little bits leading to double feeds
with @usernames, this should be resolved via youtube's side. Can this be closed?
Not sure. @Stypox?
