Feature description

You should be able to choose whether to show the previous line of captions or the next line of captions.

Why do you want this feature?

Showing the previous line of captions is more like the behavior of YouTube's auto-generated captions but NewPipe's auto-generated captions aren't shown immediately so showing the next line of captions should be an option. Showing the next line of captions will make auto-generated captions be more like regular captions.

NewPipe's auto-generated captions aren't shown immediately

Just to be clear, Newpipe doesn't generate its own captions. It just shows whatever YT provides. If there is a difference in behaviour between this and the official app, it might be a bug. Could you show a screen record exhibiting this behaviour?

I mean YouTube's auto-generated captions behave differently on NewPipe and the official YouTube app.

Attach Screen record please.

The YouTube app shows captions as they are spoken. NewPipe's behavior for auto-generated captions is more similar to the YouTube app's regular captions.

Add a screen record for that. Closing untill then, will reopen it once it is done.

Just compare the auto-generated captions of YouTube and NewPipe and you will see.

(The YouTube side is more laggy because I recorded it without changing the video resolution, but that doesn't affect the comparison) Feels like it's more of a YouTube UI thing than anything else.

We have to ask developers whether that is possible.
