Controller Issues: PlayStation 4

Describe the current state I’m trying to put the controller mod onto Minecraft and it won’t show up in game, I don’t know if it’s a controller problem or a bug. The controller icon won’t show up. I’ve followed tutorials and done everything, and updated everything. This happens each time i update minecraft
