Reproduction steps
In Galacticraft 5 Pre-Alpha, the texture for the smithing template item appears to be missing. The item displays as a default missing texture (black/purple squares) rather than its intended design.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Obtain a smithing template in Galacticraft 5 Pre-Alpha.
- Check its inventory icon and in-world appearance.
Expected Behavior: The smithing template should have a proper texture, similar to standard Minecraft templates.
Observed Behavior: The smithing template appears as a missing texture.

- No resource packs were active when testing.
- Occurs in both single-player and multiplayer environments.
Yeah, there are several missing textures and textures that need to be updated, but I think they are all known about.

Thanks for the response, Roelymole! Good to know that the missing textures are already known about. Do you happen to know if there's an official list or tracker for these issues? Just want to make sure I'm reporting things that haven't already been documented.
No worries, #2 and #3 have lists of the blocks and items with boxes to tick off when the textures have been replaced and they look fairly up-to-date at the moment, although they are quite long and overwhelming.
I don't think the missing texture for the smithing template is on there, or at least not clearly, so I'll update that. Let me know if you spot anything else and I can sort that too.
