Support for required fields in Jira issues that don't have a default value
Hi,
When I try to create a new issue from CodeStream (in VS Code) to Jira I have an issue with the dropdown lists:
- the first dropdown gets the list of project :ok:
- the second one which should get the list of issue types (bug, story, task, ...) stays empty :no_entry_sign:
- the third dropdown is the list of applications where the issue should be created :ok:
See the screenshot in attachment
@gleonet - It's possible that CodeStream isn't able to support any of your Jira issue types. At the moment if you have any required fields (other than the three depicted on the form above) that don't have default values, we don't make those available for selection. Any chance that all of your Jira issue types fall into that category?
@planteater Indeed we have custom required fields. I will check if we miss some default values. Thanks for your quick reply
Just curious if there is any plans to add support for more fields in the Jira dialog? like Component? Having a default value is ok.. But I find that I might as well just use Jira to create the ticket since I have to go and fix the component every time I create one with Codestream (VS Code plugin).. I would suggest that maybe some additional fields can be a setting in the project. (Like maybe this project is component X in Jira and this other project is component Y).
@gpinkham - Short answer is yes. In the coming months we're going to be going much deeper on the Jira integration overall, both in terms of the creation of tickets as well as viewing/managing tickets.
