Wildcard Search

Open HT-7 opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Nemo file manager for Linux already has this feature.

image

In this example, 20240419*.mp4 selects all MP4 files whose name starts with "20240419", meaning recorded on April 19, 2024. (Yes, I know, file name format varies depending on camera software. Some software uses a "VID_" prefix.)

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

While selecting a range of files is now much easier than before thanks to A-to-B range selection (Thank you again!), selecting files from specific dates or with specific extensions would be even easier with wildcard selection.

Describe the solution you'd like See image at top of the post.

Describe alternatives you've considered Termux (Android terminal) can be used for this (mv -n 20240419.*mp4 /storage/emulated/0/target_directory), but having this in Amaze would come in handy.

Additional context None.
