Samba copy does not work
Describe the bug Amaze does copy a file from a smb network but without any content in that file (0KB)
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open Amaze
- Connect to your SMB network
- Copy a file from your SMB network
- Paste in a local Dir and see copy with 0KB
Expected behavior Normal copy and paste via SMB
Smartphone (please complete the following information):
- Device: Google Pixel 7a
- OS: Grapheneos
- Rooted: No
- Version: 14
Not easy to find a GrapheneOS device here, so could only test with emulator.
Works OK with Pixel 7 emulator running stock Android 14.
My best bet is if GrapheneOS isn't doing any over hardening that is breaking Amaze...
I've an issue that looks exactly the same as this. Connects to SMB share, can browse. Can't copy across. A dummy file of 0k is created, but nothing else seems to happen. Is it noteworthy that the only permissions the app seems to have is for Notifications? Like, there's not even an option for File Access permissions. Pixel 6 Pro, stock Android 14.
Edit: I noticed a little later that there was actually a Notification that popped up, saying it was copying a file. But there was no info about the file, nor a transfer rate. So I force quit, started again, tried the copy again and now it's working yay Heisenbugs?
Pixel 10 Pro, Android 16, similar issue here, copy returns a 0KB file
tried last comment work around (close app, reopen Amaze), download begins until 4mb or so then freezes. any attempt to pause and resume the download removes it from the Chrome download tool.
consistently reproducible on my setup.
work around for me was to use the FTPS server and WSL2 (or if you are not afraid of unencrypted data, disable SSH/SSL and do the regular FTP server with Windows 11 "Add network location"). not ideal, and slower than i expect it should have been.
