Handle Copycats (License fraud)

I'ts ok to copy AmazeFileManager as long as you do not violate our GPL3 License. Please inform yourself about GPL3 before forking!!!

How should we handle these copycats in the future?

There is no law to manage these copycats on playstore.

Well they avoid platforms like vanced newpipe on their platform but aloow copy cats what a bias playstore has 🙄😑

You can denounce the apps as copies, slowly they are removed.

You could potentially add a "poison pill" that would check the package name against a list, and after 48 hours of the app being installed (to make it harder for developers to detect while developing it), it will show a message saying that the app is stolen, is not respecting the GPL license, and link to the actual app. Of course you should still let users use the app, just with that popup. While this won't stop anyone who even knows the slightest bit of code, it will at least be an inconvenience, and damage their reputation by the time they find out.
