automatically change focus to editor window

Open elagobalus opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

Upon inverse search from pdf to editor, I think the focus should change to the editor window. I'm using texworks 0.6.6 on fedora 34, gnome, wayland, and this does not happen.

Suggestions?

Thanks for reporting. Please describe the exact steps of what you did, what you expected to happen, and what happened instead.

In particular: what do you mean by "inverse search"? Using Search > Find... in the preview window? Ctrl-Clicking in the preview window? Selecting "Jump to source" from the context menu in the preview window?

And by "focus", do you mean keyboard focus (i.e., if you press a key it will edit the tex source code)? Or do you mean the window is not raised/brought to the front/shown?

Thanks for the response. Small correction, I'm on fedora 35.

Version 0.6.6 ("Fedora") [r.24442ac0, 3/11/21 11:03 AM]

I use Ctrl-click in the preview window. The result is that the corresponding text in the editor window is highlighted, but the focus stays in the preview window.

I mean both keyboard focus and raising of the window, in the current version neither happens. In the previous version on fedora 33 this action was the result of Crtl-clicking in the preview window.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.
