Is it possible to use an online URL as a media source?

Not currently. It relies on the native Media Source integration

Please note, that the folder must be accessible locally. Home Assistant cannot connect to external or remote network shares using this configuration option.

This will be great to have!

And it seems quite simple to show images from public URLs. I wanted to use these to show traffic cameras in my way to work/home and avoid traffic jams :)
