Rocket backblast
ISSUE
Currently, vanilla RPGs in A3 don't have any sort of simulated backblast on firing, acting as more of an arcade-style weapon than a realistic simulation. The introduction of backblast would require more co-ordination in-game, and add a nice visual element if implemented well.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
- Add visual effect of dust kickback from the back-end of the launcher.
- Cause a medium amount of damage to any units that are directly behind the launcher. Not enough to cause death, as that seems anti-fun.
- Ragdoll unit and apply slight pushback? May not be feasible, depends on availability of suitable commands and bugginess of ragdoll physics.
ISSUES
May not fit with intended vision for TMR, due to slight risk of it becoming an anti-fun mechanic. Eliminating risk of death and having the result be visual rather than causing serious damage may alleviate this, but also risks making backblast easier to ignore and not bother accounting for.
Backblast isn't anti-fun, it requires attention to what you're doing and makes the AT job more interesting. I'm fine with it killing people. This is on my list, thanks for writing it up.
I gotta figure out more about how I can forcibly ragdoll people.
