UPDATE: The JS Engine option has been up for a couple days without complaint; furthermore, today additional AppCache support means the site loads instantly and works both online and offline....
Turns out github hosting doesn't get us SSL for free, for custom domains, at least not for the time being. We'll have to start thinking about this if Google starts...
