Not prompted to save a model after adding a field via Detect Schema changes

Open edhans opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Describe the issue I added a column by using the Update Table Schema feature and accepted the change, which then added the column(s) to the table. However, there was no yellow bar at the top telling me I had changed the model and needed to save it.

** Which version are you currently using? ** Tabular Editor 3.9 Enterprise

To Reproduce Power BI Service via XMLA Endpoint

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Change the underlying schema of a data source. Add a column for example.
  2. Right-click on that table in the model, Update Table Schema
  3. Accept changes
  4. No warning that the model has changed and needs to be saved.

Expected behavior I would expect this dialog to show up. image

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • Windows version 10

FYI - did another model and it had two schema changes:

  1. Add a column
  2. change a data type accepting those did cause the yellow box to show up, so it seems to be just adding column is the issue.

Hi @edhans

Agreed that adding a column should prompt the info dialog box to be shown. Thank you for the heads up, it has been added to our backlog.
