Apply Refresh Policy does not work consistently

Open tobimax opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Hi,

Version 3.2.1

In the image below after applying the refresh policy, I would expect 2020Q307, 2020Q308 & 2020Q309 to be removed but they are not and there are now overlapping partitions.

There should be 18 Partitions at the month grain as per the policy.

Thanks

Toby.

Hi Toby. ApplyRefreshPolicy is a TOM/AMO method that Tabular Editor invokes. In other words, the logic deciding which partitions to create, is not controlled by Tabular Editor. Consider reporting this to the Analysis Services github: https://github.com/microsoft/Analysis-Services

@tobimax can you provide a link to the issue if you open it? I would like to follow it. I came here to report a similar issue. I changed the policy to retain 8 quarters instead of 24 months to more closely align partition and segment size, and I got a ton of overlapping partitions I had to manually delete.
