Open in TablePlus Fails when a Root Password is Set

The default configuration of a MySQL service is without a root password. But if you set one, then the shortcut in the "->" menu for Open in TablePlus fails because it assumes no password. How can you get it so that the shortcut knows a password is set and connects correctly? Or alternatively, why isn't DBngin looking for a favorite saved in TablePlus with the name of the service and if found uses that to connect? I'd actually rather that, because then it is clear where to set the password, but also any other settings that you may want set, like tag, etc.
