? about vor.c

I've been looking at the code in vor.c to learn some of the details about it operates..

Do you have a reference that I can refer to find out more details.. I'm thinking something along the lines of a textbook or research paper so that I can understand the math behind this.

Results are jumping all over... because I am in my living room or ?? is there a way for the tool to provide a confidence indicator ?

I have used sdrangel and their VOR decoder to give me some clues. Just like for airband, antenna location is important. Mount it as high as possible to prevent obstacles blocking its line of sight to the VOR. Certainly if you are on the ground, those stations can only be received for a few km.
