Stories support
Mainline telegram has had stories support for a while, while telegram-x has been missing that feature. I understand not everyone appreciate it, but those of us who do, miss it dearly.
Please do not implement stories! @FernandoMiguel why don't you download the main Telegram app and leave Telegram X for the people who want a simple app that sends messages. I don't understand why people aren't satisfied with Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, or any other million apps that have these beloved "Stories" that everyone seems obsessed with. Why do people need Stories in every app? Why does every app have to become like every other app instead of being excellent at a specific thing?
I stated above not everyone likes it.... It's known the hate for it, for unknown reasons to me. I like it cause it's a simple way of sharing random photos with your contacts, without directly spamming them, and not actively keeping content in the internet forever. Stories are perfect for this use case, perfect for me. For those who don't like it, nobody is making you use them, look at them, or be bothered with them.
The reason I have used telegram-x for so many years has been cause I far prefer its ui interface, how fast it is, and historically how it added new features compared to mainline telegram app.
I'm not attacking anyone here, just politely opening a feature request.
I hope we all benefit from this.
The issue is that stories are implemented in a visually invasive way and there is no way to clear the "new story" notification if it comes from Telegram's official channel, and they spam on Stories all the time because they're really excited about the fact that they are becoming like TikTok. So there is alway a persistent "1" badge at the top. I find modern social media apps to be incredibly distracting and Stories represent the epitome of this distraction feed-based culture that doesn't give you even a second to think about what you're seeing before serving you more more more content. I actively avoid using apps that have features designed to hijack my brain's reward system. Stories on the main Telegram branch were implemented in a thoughtless way that made it clear that the devs want to force people to engage with them. Why else would they not provide a way to disable stories if you're not interested in them? Thus, I oppose the addition of Stories to Telegram X and encourage you to move to the main channel. The mainline Telegram has been getting tons of updates lately (unfortunately for me) so maybe you'll find that it's got more fun features you'll enjoy and then Telegram X doesn't need to follow suit.
Please never implement it on Telegram X. If people want that awful junk they can use the main telegram.
Why should us, users of tgx, not benefit from this feature? Why would anyone be forced to move to a worst app? For those who don't want it, don't use it. Make your own request so there's a way to not have it visible. But let us who want it, have it.
My Freedom is not imposing on yours. But. You down voting my request, is forcing your Will on me and others who also want it.
I made an account specifically to say that if stories are added I will just never use telegram x again since the only reason why I use it is to get away from that... "feature".

What benefit are you talking about? I still fail to see what value stories bring to anyone's life. It's clearly a format designed to drive mindless scrolling so corporations can put ads in there and increase "engagement". So you're requesting that an advertisement mill build on exploiting people's reward mechanisms be placed into an app that I use for messaging family because SMS sucks. I don't understand why an SMS replacement app has become the target of Snapchat users. You already have Stories in Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook. You even won in mainline Telegram.
You claim that your freedom does not impose on mine. But this is not true. If you look at Telegram it is imposing on people's user experience and they have even replaced buttons that people used for archiving chats with new access to stories. It is not optional, they are being pushed front and center and anyone that claims otherwise is being disingenuous. For example, there are persistent Story notifications that cannot be cleared from the Telegram channel (which also cannot be blocked). Therefore users are terrified that Telegram X will follow suit and not provide users with the ability to turn off stories. Since developers tend to work in really broad strokes and have not yet invented a way to program toggles for enabling or disabling UI elements, we are opposed to Telegram X ever having stories because likely they will be implemented in a bad way that will be detrimental to our experience.
There is a Telegram forum where you can register complaints at https://bugs.telegram.org. Note that the biggest complaint with 1179 comments and 5541 upvotes is about removing stories from the top of the UI. Telegram is refusing to listen to their users, saying:
"Official Response: Stories take up no extra space in the Telegram UI – but if you'd prefer not to see stories from certain contacts, hold down on their profile picture at the top of your screen and select 'Hide Stories'.
Their response is false. There is an added row on the top that takes up valuable space that you can't remove and no one wants to be bothered with constantly being bombarded with story notifications and have to hold down their icon and hide them. It also adds bloat to the application which is abused by advertisement spammers. I was so pleased with my past 5 years experience with the official Telegram app but I couldn't take it anymore and moved to Telegram X. But if X adopts stories then I'll have to abandon them too and continue searching for other better Telegram apps.
This feature is not implemented on tgx. We don't know how it will be presented here and what options it can give us to control its presentation. All I'm hearing is some folks don't want to see it. That's fine, open a design ticket with that same request. Personally, I do want have access to what my friends share. I want to share photos with my friends with having to send them directly.
We can all achieve what we desire.

Oh, we can all get what we desire? Why didn't you say so! In that case I want telegram X to be a search engine, an email client, a video sharing platform, a video streaming platform, an online shopping platform, a central git repo service, a mobile + PC operating system, a clothes dryer, and two large diet pepsi please.
Why would anyone want to use separate services? I want everything in one place, and I want it now!
@FernandoMiguel @whyboar For these things there is the main version, use that. Please don't ruin Telegram X too. With the introduction of these extra features, Telegram has become a horrible and slow application. From Instant Messaging it became a Social Network, as if there weren't already so many of them. The only useful feature missing are the topics in groups. The rest is clearly superfluous, as well as being addictive and distracting from its main function (sending messages).
I don't see it as ruining, but as serving it purpose of broadcasting to my friends and communicate. I feel many of yoy have a very strange use of telegram, full of strangers. I have a couple of groups and s dozen close friends.
@FernandoMiguel There is a clear difference between Instant Messaging and Social Network. Telegram is an Instant Messaging application (while having additional features), there's no point in insisting.
For those who don't want it, don't use it.
The application is fine like this. This answer also applies in reverse. Don't like Telegram X because it doesn't have the "stories"? Don't use it. But you can't force others to put up with useless functions just because you "claim" them. As you can see, the majority disagrees with the introduction of the stories.

It's a ruining, Initially it seems really great but as time goes by it becomes psychologically stressful. If a person wants to see certain content, they ask you specifically, Or search for them via groups or channels. It is not necessary to impose them through stories. Maybe (instead of stories) you could propose introducing the Broadcast function like the one present in WhatsApp, which is different from the classic Telegram "channels".
I feel many of yuu have a very strange use of telegram, full of strangers.
It's not a strange thing. As I said, There is a difference between purposely seeking out certain content and imposing it.
