Couldn't get XML info for [SteamID]
Describe the bug I opened OBS while the app was still running, everything was fine until I restarted the app and I got this error
Screenshots
Desktop (please complete the following information):
- OS: Windows 10 22H2
Is there a way to fix or avoid this to happen? Because I've never experienced this error
Hi, i got same problem, i can't find log, do you know where is it?
I couldn't find logs too, I'm too low tech to actually find out 😭
OBS should have no impact on the account switcher... Are there any niche or not-so-common plugins you are using @NoName1610 @Kr1nxx ?
The account switcher gets your profile picture and some other things from:
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/<STEAMID>?xml=1
Replace <STEAMID> with your actual SteamID and see if you're able to reach this page in a browser too
I haven't used OBS for about a month after reinstalling windows, that day I opened my OBS and connected to my twitch account, then OBS automatically added the twitch chat plugin and the edit stream information panel. that's all I did and then I got the above error, I don't know how to explain it better. And, I am able to reach that page in a browser with my SteamID.
Strange... Does it still happen when OBS is open?
Assuming you get the error again, please find and send the logs either here, or on Discord to @troublechute -- Copy and paste this into your Windows Explorer path, or Run dialog to get there: %AppData%\TcNo Account Switcher\ You're looking for log.txt
Alternatively, C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\TcNo Account Switcher\
It happens even though OBS hasn't been running since then.
Here is the log file: log.txt
Thank you for helping! ❤️
Thanks. I downloaded and looked at it. A ton of these errors:
ERROR: Failed to load Steam account XML.
System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: The SSL connection could not be established, see inner exception.
---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host..
---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (10054): An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
I've only really seen programs give this kind of error when using a VPN, changing VPN connections or changing internet connections from WiFi to Ethernet, and so on. I don't think this is something my app has control over but I'll look into it to see if there's anything I can do about it
Here is my log file: log.txt
i have same problem couldnt get xml but not in obs in my country they block steam so i have change dns google to using steam, but before i download TcNo acc switcher i always using dns google everythey, when im install and use TCNo acc switcher for 3 month normaly , but few day ago i got problem couldnt get xml... Tks for helping sir
somehow my app went back to normal. still don't know what cause this my internet or steam mess up something. Maybe it's one of our problems in Vietnam when Steam has been redirected to another website (local host 127.0.0.0) and cannot access Steam store or Steam community to temporarily "block steam". But still, thank you for looking for a solution. There are still many people having this problem.
I have encountered the same issue before. After checking the logs, I found that it was an SSL connection problem. I resolved it by turning off the network accelerator I was using. It seems that the network accelerator set up a proxy, which caused the issue. Therefore, I have to switch accounts before enabling the network accelerator.
谢谢。我下载了看看。一大堆这样的错误:
ERROR: Failed to load Steam account XML. System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: The SSL connection could not be established, see inner exception. ---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (10054): An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.我见过的程序只有在使用VPN、更改VPN连接或将网络连接从WiFi切换到以太网等情况下才会出现这种错误。我不认为我的应用程序能够控制这种情况,但我会研究一下,看看能不能解决这个问题。
I also encountered a similar problem, and after repeatedly turning on and off the network accelerator, it was confirmed to be a network issue. I don't know much about the program and don't know what TCNO is accessing. May I ask if it's possible to add an option in the settings to cancel this step or add a controllable timeout setting, as this step takes a lot of time when I have a large number of stored accounts
