Oculus needs to re-pair everytime account switched
Created an account just to bring this issue up.
Basically, what the title says. We're using the Quest 2 to Airlink onto the same computer, and account switching on the Oculus app does occur, but we have to re-pair the computer each time we switch accounts on the Oculus app if we Airlink. Not sure if this is an issue for the Acc Switcher app or for Oculus.
Sorry for the late response. I hope you're not still experiencing this.
I would assume something in the oculus config is changing? I'm not too sure, unfortunately.
A lot of folders are copied and saved, then swapped out on the switch. You can see a full list under LoginFiles, here.
As this is an electron/chromium app, everything is stored in a browser. Getting into specific parts of it is relatively difficult, and I don't know about it completely. I would assume that some token is saved as a Cookie in this 'browser', and is in one of these files here. Likely in the sessions folder.
Without replacing all of these files outright, it's difficult to swap effectively.
While this is an issue to do with the TcNo Account Switcher (I would assume) it hasn't got this advanced with Electron/Chromium apps just yet (if ever).
I do think that if it is a cookie or something of that sort, it is possible.
Laughably, we haven't been switching as Oculus accounts as often, but from what I remember it was hit and miss with re-pairing. It's bearable, but defeats the purpose of using the account switching part.
On the bright side, it doesn't matter if we're just going straight to SteamVR.
Not sure if it helps any, but I have noticed that switching accounts on the headset itself leaves the owner logged in, so it's possible that Meta just doesn't understand account switching. 😅
This feature is a nice-to-have for chromium/electron platforms. Unlike Steam and other platforms, Facebook is very straightforward about not having multiple accounts -
