Steam starts in small mode

Hello, just downloaded this software today so I may be missing something but whenever I switch accounts Steam starts in small mode. Another issue I have is that one of the accounts I have is constantly highlighted even when I'm logged in to the other one. Awesome piece of software non the less, thanks :)

I'm not too sure where the Big Picture setting is stored, but it shouldn't be changing this as far as I understand. I will look into this as soon as I have time.
