Importing .sav files into BizHawk?

Open cursedgerbil opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

I've looked around but haven't been able to find an answer. Can I import .sav files into BizHawk to load save files, and if so, how?

Which emulator are you trying to import from, and for what console? The feature request for a SaveRAM importer is #1659, but in the meantime, you can probably do it manually.

I'm using a raw .sav file from playing a DS game on my modified 3DS.

It's very likely all you need to do is just change the extension.

I tried changing the file to a .SaveRAM file and placing it in BizHawk's NDS folder but this didn't seem to work - do I need to do something else?

As in the SaveRAM folder in the NDS folder? Did you make sure the save has the correct name (the generated saveram from simply opening up the game will have the name bizhawk expects).

I have this question as well: I have a SAV file of an NDS from running the ROM via a flashcart (an R4) on a real 3DS/NDS. What file extension do I change the SAV file to, and how do I load it into BizHawk?

ED: Specifically the game is Maestro! Jump in Music.

ED2: The file extension is .SAVERAM.

It just needs to be a .SaveRAM file in the NDS/SaveRAM folder using the correct name (you can just open the rom and flush saveram to find the correct names).
