how to show taskbar and menu? when i click end of the bar it only show quick settings, also it use 216mb of ram?
Weird set of bugs you got there? To show a taskbar and menu you literally load the.. taskbar and menu modules. Clicking either side of the bar is going to show a sidepanel.
Please note that the menu module is strictly for use with sysmenu so you also need that installed.
I plan on allowing other menus to be launched from that but haven't gotten around to that just yet..
the config on ~/.config/sys64/bar not working i have to edit the one on the /usr/local/share already load the taskbar module but it's not working
That is.. bizarre?
Mind sending ~/.config/sys/bar/config.conf?
And can you elaborate on what "not working" means?
Like any errors? Or just doesn't work as intended or what?
the taskbar not showing, bar only shows clock edited ~/.config/sys64/bar/config.conf but its not working, bar wont change anything
That is very.. odd? What distro are you on and how did you install sysbar? Mind running sysbar -v and sending the output?
arch compositor: wayfire install: edit src/config.hpp - make - sudo make install sysbar -v Unable to open file: /usr/share/sys64/bar/calendar.conf and this is screenshot of my bar, the taskbar only show a thin line
and this is when i click the right side of the bar
then i copied the style.css to ~/.config/sys64/bar the taskbar still dont show up and the thin blue line is gone
Oh my god!! This is awful!?
Can you try installing the package from the AUR? I maintain my packages on the AUR and that's mainly how i install sysbar on my devices.
@tomysurya Could you try now? I think things should work better now.
the taskbar only show a thin strip, also whats the quick settings for? enabled volume but i dont see any volume widget here's the screenshot:
also this is using too many ram, 180mb of ram?
Could you also post your config? The quick settings area is meant for controls and such:
As for the memory usage that's unfortunately how it is with all GTK4 applications since they use hardware acceleration.
You can just launch sysbar like i do on my desktop with GSK_RENDERER=cairo sysbar which will force it to use software rendering.
[main] position=0 size=30 icon-size=16 layer=2 autohide=true exclusive=true verbose=false main-monitor=VGA-1
[modules] start=clock center=taskbar end=volume,network icon-size=16
[sidepanels] start-size=350 start-label= end-size=350 end-label=Quick Settings
[clock] interval=1000 label-format=%H:%M tooltip-format=%Y/%m/%d widget-layout=0044
[volume] show-label=false widget-layout=0341
[network] show-label=false
[menu] show-icon=true show-label=false icon-name=start-here label-text=Applications
[taskbar] text-length=14 icon-size=24
Got it, Turns out the default config lacked these in the taskbar section:
show-label=true
show-icon=true
No clue how i missed that.. Additionally i've been able to reproduce a major issue which causes a nasty bug to occur. Will fix this ASAP.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
All should be good now, Let me know if the latest update fixed things for you.
