Implement ADFS and AAD authentication in Traditional Synergy code

In order to implement role based security inside traditional synergy code we need to be able to retrieve and authenticate a JWT returned from a calling process or a call to Azure AD/ADFS. Some work has already been done to provide cryptographic token validation.
