verbose git clone output

I'm currently building the superbuild on a cluster and it appears to be hanging:

[ 23%] Performing download step (git clone) for 'ITK'
Cloning into 'ITK'...

It has sat like that for quite a while now. Normally, git clone shows the progress - can I do this via the superbuild? I need to know if it's stuck at 0 or just being very slow, so more verbose output would be useful.
