Touch controls don't work

I'm running Lemuroid on a Samsung Galaxy A71 5G (SM-716U) with Android 12. The buttons in portrait mode don't respond at all, and in landscape some respond to touches at random places on the screen, but not where the buttons are shown. This doesn't stop me from using it, since I have an external gamepad, but it does stop me from demonstrating it to anyone else unless I happen to have my gamepad with me.
