Conflicting timezone formats when splitting series results in overflowing event

Hosted (app.compasscalendar.com)
Expected Behavior
After splitting a recurrence series in Gcal, the events in Gcal should look similar to those in Compass.
Current Behavior
After splitting a recurrence series in Gcal, the instance that was changed is overflowing the calendar grid in Compass.
Look at the No water event
Steps to Reproduce
- Create recurring daily event in Gcal
- Change on instance in Gcal
- Select
This and followingwhen prompted - Look at Compass
- Expected: the instance and following are updated with correct proportions
- Actual: The instance that was changed is overflowing
- Refresh
- Same -- event doesn't change
- Click the overflowing event. Notice how the Ends On date seems correct.
- Look at the DB for this event and see the below. Notice how the
startDateof the original uses TZ offset while the new recurrence uses UTC
