Unexpected Inoperable file IOException
After an update from Android, the app disabled the proximity tracing. When I try to activate it again, I get the following error message:
COVID-19 notifications could not be activated
8: java.io.IOException: Inoperable file: canonical[/data/data/com.google.android.gms/files/nearby/shared/exposure_notification_client_records.pb]

I have a Motorola Model Moto G5 plus Build number: OPS28.85-17-6-2 Android-Version 8.1.0 Securitypatch-level February 1, 2019 Google Play Services Version 21.02.14 (040308-352619232) Google Play Store Version 24.1.31-21 [0] [PR] 357815498 Google Services Framework Version 8.1.0-4487743
I granted all the permissions to the app that it asked for, turned battery saving off and bluetooth on. I also tried to reinstall it and clear the cache and all data files. And rebooting the phone after all this. The problem remains the same. I believe this shared file is corrupt and it cannot be removed with a clear cache operation.
With the file browser integrated in my system, I don't see the folder nearby
in /data/data/com.google.android.gms/files
. That might be the reason.
