What's the point of doubled labels?

They both seem to be byte labels at the exact same address.
Perhaps they prepared for introducing high level (C) programming language into the kernel? Otherwise I also wonder what is this for, but did not want to break with the "convention" to also add the label prefixed by underscore.
I think we could remove the labels prefixed by underscore. But we should do it for all then...
