Registration recommendation method

Hello. I am new in this space and was able to get SimpleElastix to work with Python 3 through Spyder.

I am trying to run the default registrations to get a basic alignment of the following two images, but with little success. Any recommendations on which alignment to use and what parameters to change? A simple "translation" or "rigid" transform essentially outputs the same image as the second image (i.e. no movement). As a follow-up, is there also a way to extract the matrix or <x,y> vector that the translation registration determines? Thanks.
