GTK is eating keyboard and mouse shortcuts

I wonder if switching the toolkit to QT could be an easy fix.

Q: Is my mouse wheel broken? It causes scrolling while the pointer is over the scroll bar and doesn't cause scrolling while the pointer is over the pattern grid. A: ISSOtm said "Known bug, I have the same issue" and superdisk said it's related to GTK.
