Prevent security exception when creating account on Android 7

Do you have the free version and the paid version installed in parallel?

No, I only use the free version. However, I found a phone with the same Android version (also Lineage OS 14.1) that does not show the problem.

I agree that changing the account type is not obvious and to be honest I can't explain why it works. If this topic is out of scope for you, I would be ok with compiling my own version. If changing the account type does not do harm to other OS versions it might still be an option, I guess.
