I had this request in my mind for a long time. First of all thanks for creating an issue. I googled for some implementation techniques and found the following: palette-colors: can be used to get commonly used colors in an image (https://developer.android.com/training/material/palette-colors) Also, this(https://developer.android.com/topic/libraries/support-library/setup) might help in supporting the above library for Android v 4.0.
