Folders to help sorting the Library

Problem For different reasons, you may want to sort your Library in a more personal/efficient way, In my case, the catalog with community plugins is so impressive that Stremio starts to be my first search engine for torrents and the Library as a Watch List.

Wich leads to an issue : my Library is huge. So, long story short : I'd like to put aside some contents based on different criteria, ie :

• new seasons that are not fully released
• series that will have a next season but not before a while
• licence with a lot of related content (Marvel, Star Wars, LOTR, Batman ...)
• issues with subtitles, need to find them elsewhere and use VLC
• public domain
• not enough source to be streamed, but could be downloaded with the magnet link (if available, see #249 #280 and other similar requests)
• ...

Also, I've seen different request with different sorting capabilities (based on duration, IMDB rating, etc... #338)

Solution Requested Here is an idea of what I'd like :

1/ being able to create folders 2/ being able to add content to X or Y folder 3/ from the the Dashboard, the Catalog, and the Library with a right-click (+sub menu showing created Folders and an option to make a new one)

4/ Once I'm in my Library, I'd be able to filter content based on folders. Here are some exemples :

No Filter

One Filter

Two Filters (or more)

Describe alternatives you've considered Hashtags or labels àla Gmail may be an alternative, but I feel like folders is the most simple thing to use.

Also, if displaying unlimited folders is an issue, the amount of folders one may create + the max character you can use for their names can be limited (ie: 8 folders max, 16 characters max - that's what I did with my screenshots)

This would be amazing! It could also solve another problem: some people use the Library to keep track of stuff to watch. So they have no ways to save their favourite movies/series. With a folders feature they could just create a "To watch" folder. 🗂

Two years later we never got an answer from devs... They revamped the whole app last year but there is no new features, so I'm pretty sure they don't really take care of suggestions. Same with the long-time requested feature to be able to access the dowload link before a video plays : they never answer to it.

I'd like to see the app getting better but it already fulfill a lot on daily basis for free so... That will do.

• To make these changes or a fork you need to access the code, wich is proprietary.
• Addons are there only to bring content, not to change the app itself.

So basically only devs can do these changes (or open the code)

I've been hoping/waiting for this to happen since I started using Stremio about a year ago... I just kind of assumed that it would happen eventually because the library is such a mess, when it comes to films, at least... I think it would be great to have like a Star Wars folder and then put all the films and series under that folder, then Batmans, Marvel, etc...

Same! Bumping this again. Just started using Stremio but it seems like such a natural feature. Hopefully the devs take a look, I can't imagine it would be too difficult given the similar infrastructure that already exists.

yes, we read all the feature requests, and yes, we try to implement as much as possible, but we are a small team for a completely free project, it takes time to create apps for new platforms, bring all apps to a stable state and implement new features, please be patient, we are aware of all the top requested features
