Add a “Watch Later” Button to Movie/Series Pages

Stremio Version Stremio 4.4.168 (Desktop) – Windows 10 / macOS 14

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Not a problem. When I discover movie or episode I sometimes want to watch in the future and I would like to add it to the calendar so that it is "scheduled" for watching later on the chosen day.

Describe the solution you'd like Add a “Watch Later” button to each movie and episode detail page in Stremio’s UI, for example near the "Add to Library" button. Clicking it would:

  • Let the user optionally choose a date and time (simple picker).
  • Save the title to a dedicated “Watch Later” list in their library.
  • Show the saved item in Stremio’s built-in Calendar on the chosen date/time.
  • Make the “Watch Later” list accessible from the Library.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • Using the current “Add to Library” button — but this mixes “watch later” items with my regular library content and doesn’t show them on the Calendar by default.
  • Running a custom Stremio add-on to simulate the feature — this works but requires an external date picker and cannot add a native button in the app’s UI.
  • Using external tools like Google Calendar or note-taking apps — but this breaks the seamless experience of Stremio.

Additional context This feature would improve user engagement with the Calendar and make Stremio more of a complete viewing planner. A simple icon (e.g., clock or bookmark) on the detail page next to “Add to Library” could be enough to start with.

The built-in calendar is used to provide users with information about the releases of content they have saved in their library, and serves a very different purpose from the request. Still, there might be other ways, such as reminders.
