Open sjuk opened this issue 1 year ago • 8 comments

Stremio Version TV (please complete the following information): Device: Philips 65OLED806 OS: Android TV Version 11

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When browsing: All titles, descriptions and trailers are always shown in English language only. stremio-bugs > 1029

Describe the solution you'd like The preferred language, that has already been configured in the settings, should be used whenever available. When the preferred language is not available then the second preferred language should be used. When none of the two preferred languages is available the app should fall back to English. Regarding trailers the user should have the option to choose (before playing the clip) between his two preferred languages or to fall back to English.

Describe alternatives you've considered N/A

Additional context N/A

Note that the issue has been requested as a bug first. I was not aware of the feature repository. The bug has been closed with "not a bug". Only to clarify that this request is new and hopefully now at the right place.

you can already do this with addons use tmdb addon and configure it to display in your language then use something to hide cinemata and then reorder the addons so tmdb is on top however this is not ideal but gets the job done

I've tried to install the tmdb addon on my AndroidTV. But I don't know how. It appears to require an internet address, and I don't know where to get it.

because it's much easier unless you have iOS but then also it's easier to do it on a browser than on tv unless you got a mouse and keyboard (connected to the tv)

Thanks for the clarification. To be honest I will wait until this is working out of the box directly in Stremio. I was searching for an alternative to JustWatch because it didn't work on my AndroidTV anymore in December 2024. Meanwhile it's working again. That said it's not so urgent and I can wait.
