Addon extraction failed

Describe the bug Since a few days (since last strem.io update?) I have the error (see subject) as soon as I start strem.io, and nothing works.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start strem.io
  2. See error message in the upper right corner

Expected behavior Strem.io should start without errors and addons should do their magic.

  • OS: linux openSUSE Tumbleweed
  • Browser: n/a (I'm not using strem.io in the browser)
  • Version: com.stremio.Stremio 4.4.168 (flatpak)

The same thing happened to me, when I uninstalled and reinstalled I can't even open the page anymore, as reported in the #764

what worked for me was to install the stremio service from flathub and access the service via https://web.stremio.com/. I was finally able to get it to work in the browser, but the same problem remains in the flatpak app.

Hi @TRtomasz , Yes still happening. I have not received any updates through flathub. How should I update?

I have just tried to download again from the strem.io home page. The link for linux download (flatpak) leads to flathub, which had version 4.4.168, which is the same as the one I already have installed. Why do you say it is old?

For anybody still waiting for a fix: for the time being, the solution was to downgrade to flathub commit e914185d23a28f9145d92e295312dabe7e96efdc15fac0d34a4375aac841742e

Thank you @MinimusMaximus ! Unfortunately it did not work... unless I have to reboot, in which case the test will have to wait for a few hours. Ups, sorry... I see now the "log out and log in" bit... will have to wait nevertheless. I'll update the comment ASAP.
