Episodes Not Being Marked as Watched after Finishing (Google/Android TV)

Open ChaoDrake opened this issue 1 year ago • 9 comments

Describe the bug I am using Stremio on my Chromecast, with the recent update it seems that finishing episodes doesn't mark them as being watched, I have been marking them manually after finishing.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to any episode
  2. Click on play
  3. Finish watching episode
  4. Episode doesn't get marked as watched (even when finishing to the end of the video)

Expected behavior Before the recent update, it worked as it should which is being marked as watched after finishing episode

Screenshots No screenshots available.

TV (please complete the following information):

  • Device: Chromecast 4K w/ Google TV
  • OS: Google TV
  • Version 1.6.9 (Latest)

Additional context What I have tried as far as troubleshooting: I've uninstalled and reinstalled, force stop, clear cache, going to the absolute end of the video, nothing seems to work. Keep in mind, this was working just fine before recent update. Appreciate the updates, thank you!

Have you tried factory resetting the Chromecast?

Streamio is working fine for me on Chromecast Gen 2 and 4K, so it might help resolve the issue.

Also try logging out and back in, or using Stremio as a guest, then report back on whether the issue persists with both methods.

Hi, I've tried the above steps now, and still not working. Some other steps I've tried:

  • Adding a new show to my library, watching til the end of episode, doesn't work
  • Tried different combination of settings (frame rate matching, hardware accelerated, tunneled playback, next episode popup duration) and still doesn't work

I've watched various episodes across various addons such as anime, comedy shows such as Ghosts, Young Sheldon or longer shows such as The Gentleman or Saturday Night Live.

You could try clearing app cache and then try to play something again.

Yes, I have tried force stop, clear cache and play something again (several times in fact) and also doesn't work.

I am using the internal player ExoPlayer, I've also tried libvlc as well.

looks like the issue happens when you try to watch something that is not added to your library, could you confir @ChaoDrake ?

Hi, everything I've tried have been shows in my library. I even tried adding a new show not previously in my library to see if the issue persists and it does.
