[Bug]: LG TV loads native player which inmediatly returns error "files is not supported"
Stremio Platform
LG Native TV App
Describe the bug
Using the LG app with Torrentio RD a lot of streams instead of loading in the stremio app, it launches the native LG player wich inmediatly crashes with an error "files is not supported" Tried reinstalling the app but the same issue persists.
To Reproduce
For example in Bakemonogatari season 1 episode 1 using Torrentio RD all of the first 3 stream options have this issue, there are some others that don't but most of them do for this series.
Expected behavior
Expected to launch the stremio app player like it does from some of the stream options

Notes
From these reddit posts it seems the issue has been like that for months previous to the last app update: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stremio/comments/1f7bpcg/stremio_in_devant_lg_tv_keeps_using_the_builtin/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Stremio/comments/1hgz9nr/stremio_opening_video_player_app_on_my_lg_tv/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Stremio/comments/1fhp1rp/lg_tv_app_not_working/ here we got an answer from a dev 5 months ago but in that case the files could be reproduced in the LG native player which is different for my case https://www.reddit.com/r/Stremio/comments/1g0ufxp/lg_tv_webos_separate_media_player/
means you play a file 4k when your tv supports only 1080p or the format you try to play is not supported on your TV. Try playing a 1080p stream or 720p stream
The example I gave is already 1080p, it also happens with some 720p options and my TV should be compatible with 4k as I'm able to watch other files in 4k.
Maybe it is something with the subtitles format because the TV app only seems to support basic formats where there are only subtitles in the bottom, and on the PC version these streams that crash on the TV have subtitles on multiple sides of the screen.
I'm experiencing this bug as well. Details below.
Stremio Platform
LG Native TV App
Describe the bug
Using the LG app with the following addons: Torrentio and MediaFusion | Elf Hosted.
When I select any torrent to play it loads for about 30 seconds in Stremio, before opening the LG Media Player giving me the message "This file cannot be recognised. Return to previous [OKAY]" When I select okay it returns me to the Stremio homepage.
I can confirm it isn't an unsupported file or codec issue because I've played the exact torrent before. I've also referenced this list of supported Video files from the TV's online user manual, attached below.
To Reproduce
Open the Resident Evil Series, S1E1 and select the torrent "Torrentio 1080p Resident Alien S011080p BlueRay x265-Resident.Alien.S011080p.BlueRay.x265-RARBG[eztv.re].mp4" Seeders: 116 File Size: 739.51MB Source: ThePirateBay
Expected behavior
I expect the video to play within the Stremio app and not open the LG Media Player and give me an error message.

Notes
In the past, I have been able to get the torrent to work by unplugging my tv, waiting a few minutes, and plugging it back in. But this method no longer works.
Just to bump. I am also having this issue.
Seems to be anything that I try to stream.
Version: Theaterv1.7.6 Platform: WebOS 22
Same bug on LG C4 OLED65C41LA webOS24 / 9.2.4-48 Native streamio app, Theatre v1.9.1
Using debridio with real debrid
Almost every stream returns āthis file cannot be recognized. Return to previousā from internal player.
Iām also experiencing this bug.
TV Model: LG C5 55AUA webOS version: webOS25 / 10.2.0-42 Stremio App: Native LG app, Theatre v1.9.2
Issue seems to only occur with larger files (e.g. REMUX), while smaller 1080p encodes work. The LG internal player takes over and shows: āThis file cannot be recognized. Return to previousā
Alsp experiencing this issue, but it may be due to the filetype? Every HEVC video I try produces the error
hello guys, so i testesd quite a bit with remux files, the issue is hard to track since there are absolutely no logs when the player switches to the native one or the music app on LG. In my case when testing the playback randomly switched to the music app, sometimes even after 20-30min of playing normally in the stremio native player. after that the music app continues to play the file, sometimes it crashes because of codec issues.
I will continue to investigate until we resolve this issue
Same issue here on LG C5, seems to be on BDRemux files almost exclusively, but some of them work, I thought it had to do with audio formats the TV couldn't play without a surround system plugged in. Anyway it's becoming annoying, since for some films I'm only left with low quality files to play
