roundabout builder(RAB) window does not go away when I switch to another tool
Situation
when I select Node controller or TMPE tool or any other tool, RAB stays on. the only way to hide it is to hit Control-O a couple of times. its unexpected and people are complaining to me (because I have a mod called United UI that creates a floating button for roundabout).
Need
I can understand that you want the RAB window to be on screen when the user switches to the road tool for example to select another road. On the other hand, we need the roundabout window to go away when user selects any other tool.
Action
We need to discuss what is the expected behaviour of RAB when the user switches to other tools. something that is convenient for the user.
@Strdate let me know what you think. I am looking forward to fixing this issue.
I totally second this. I love it for the staying open while in the roads but would REALLY love it to go away when going into another tool or hitting escape as is the standard among the majority of tools. :)
I absolutely agree to Allystrya. Yes, i like to have it open while in roads - but keeping it open if another tool get opened matches not the standard behavior i know from most of the tools/mods
Ok, I understand. I am not sure about the implementation though. Eg. should the window reappear when you go back to roads menu from another tool?
I would not personally see the need for it. Once I switch to another tool it means I am done with it at that moment and I am opening that tool to do other work. I like the option to keep it open while creating as I do switch roads after creating one and see that it isn't what I wanted or thought would work. But I want the tool to close when I open say TMPE, Move It, Network Skins2, or Find it 2 etc as I am usually then moving on with life. Does that make sense?
No, No Return Back after selecting something different needed.
I will probably implement it in a way that if the "Keep open" checkbox is checked then the window will stay open when you select road tool and will disappear when you select any other tool. If the "Keep open" checkbox is checked the behavior will stay the same as now.
Options are always good :) I like the choice :) Thank you!!
