Bug: PBR Metal Shader is too dark

Open lenship2 opened this issue 5 months ago • 3 comments

Describe the bug

Image Image

expectation (substance viewport) vs reality (p2ce)

generally from every material i've made so far i've noticed that the pbr shader makes the metallic areas way too dark, even with the new dynamic speculars from the clustered renderer. it is possible to circumnavigate this issue by decreasing the metallic areas in the mrao map, but that isn't ideal for multiple reasons.

Issue Map

any

To Reproduce

  1. make metal material using pbr shader
  2. look at it in game
  3. cry

Got cubemaps placed and built? Metal is almost entirely specular, so it needs cubemaps to not be black. Although, that metal is painted, it shouldn't actually be set to metallic

the cubemaps are placed, parallax corrected, and built
